Matir Moyna is a great art film by Famous film maker Tarek Masud.

Actually the film is about pre liberation war situation of Bangladesh. It covers description of important political and historical events of Bangladesh (so called East Pakistan) from 1966 to 1971.

It creates a silent revolution against some illogical muslim nyth.

The main character Anu is 10 years old boy. whose father forced him to go madrasa. but the environment of madrasa was not favour in him. Anu has a little sister. She also became victim of her father's dectatorship.....

director includes some exclusive real documents here in the film like original news paper of 1970, radio voice of 1970s' election declaration of Bangladesh, real film poster and wall writing of the period of 1966.....

to know more, to get experience of a great film you are invited to see this film.

Tareque / Catherine Masud knows Marketing very well. I know him since his first attempt Adam Surat.

Well, Matir Moyna is a good try, got loads of publicity; but [with due respect] its not a GOOD film. There was not any sign of character build up; that Anu's father role was not established properly.

Interested readers may have a look at my write up on Prothom Alo sometimes in Apr-Jun 2006. Where tried to define more logically.

Thanks Dighi for starting a good conversation.
