good news for indian fanz...india upstaged favourites Syria 1-0 in a hard-fought final to claim the five-nation nehru cup title on wednesday and achieve a rare soccer success in the cricket-mad nation.

the home team grabbed the lead in the 44th minute and then held a 10-man Syrian team at bay in the second half.

Syria, ranked 112 in the world to India's 151, suffered a further setback when Ayan Wael was shown the red card for kicking prone Indian defender Surkumar Singh in firsthalf injury time.

Kyrgystan, Bangladesh and Cambodia were the others who took part in this tournament.

yeah u r right.... however, i dont blame our players. they tried with their all. its a bad but real picture of our soccer federation n their way of planning.....they said the reason of split the national team is.... then they'll have more n better selective options for upcoming saff tournament. their main goal is to perform well in the saff.

anyway, i dont wanna say a lot about it.....bcoz its all past now. i hope our soccer team will be the champ in the saff. at least, we got a new coach. i just dont hope for another drama with our soccer, like they had when crusiani was in charge.
