Cultural programme by Nazrul Parshad
'Mymensingh Nazrul Parshad' celebrated Nazrul's 109th birth anniversary through a two-day programme at the Town Hall premises recently.
Dr. M. Shamsur Rahman, vice-chancellor of Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University in Trishal inaugurated the celebration.
Among others, Deputy Commissioner of Mymensingh, Md. Shamsul Alam; Professor Jatin Sarker; Advocate Mahmud Al Noor Tareq and Amir Ahmed Chowdhury Ratan attended the two-day programme as guests. Writer and columnist Shantanu Kaiser took part in the discussions on life and works of Nazrul.
The two-day programme included drama, poetry recitation, dance drama and musical soiree. Different cultural organisations including Bidrohi Natya Goshthi, Chaturanga, Nazrul Academy, Udhichi Shilpi Goshthi, Bahurupi Natya Sangstha, Sandipon, Alokmay Naha Sangeet Bidhayatan and Mymensingh Sahitya Sangsad took part in the cultural programme.
